Im currently planning a group cruise for July 2012 w/ Carnival.

We will be stopping in both Freeport and Nassau.

I would like to provide my group with a few "Inexpensive" excursion / "things to do" suggestions.

This particular group is will be made up of many families with children (children in age ranges of 2 years old - 17 years old) and also several 1st time cruisers. Actually about 75% of our group will be 1st time cruisers this time.

Im hoping to just provide a few suggestions of things that they could do with the kids and have a blast without breaking the bank.

Any suggestions on affordable "things to do" would be very helpful.

Thanks a bunch!!!!!

Nassau we usually explore around town on foot. The straw market is an experience in itself. Also you could get a cab over to Atlantis Paradise Is pretty cheap $4pp each way. pretty neat sites to see there too. also cabbage beach is near Atlantis. Water can be a little rough though. so be careful. also search this forum for info on the other beaches. Others will probaly have more details.

Freeport we like to take a taxi/van into Our Lucaya $5pp each way. Once there you will find a nice shopping area with a small straw mkt, resturants, and other shops. Also a casino there too. Neat little drink shak in the middle of the shopping area that sells Frozen Island Drinks at a great deal. a 10oz and a 16oz of same flavor with or w/o the rum for $6 I think?!? But the best thing in this area is the Beautiful Beach that has clear bluegreen water. Love this beach!!!:D

Depending on your group, of course, you might consider a walk to the Queen's Staircase (and more from there). The Pirate Museum is always a good thing for teens, but it costs a lot for what you get.

If the weather is nice, you might go to the public beach, west of the Hilton Hotel. There are some spots that are OK with kids, etc. Like you asked, this is low budget. Others will suggest places that involve a pass or fees.

For more details about walking Nassau, have a look at http://www.*****.com/nassau

Enjoy!!!!!
