Help! So hard to know what to pick

I keep reading that snorkel packages offered on cruises are a rip off, but they are at least $20 cheaper per person than any I have found online. It seems so much easier. I am trying to choose between the ones offered for st thomas or just take taxi to coki and snorkel off beach. An excursion out to a cove sounds fun. Anyone done any of them and have advice?

We did the BOSS tour in St Thomas so we're no help but I would recommend searching the St Thomas Port threads. There is plenty of recommendations there on everything to do in St Thomas.

Thanks for the reply, I have scoured the st thomas posts a lot, but no real recent reviews comparing the excursions offered from the ship. I am hoping someone off allure that tried on will be able to let me know how it was.
