Sportsdoc Posted April 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2011 Cruising with 4 and 7 year old children. Attention span short and what looks like 2 - 2.5 hour ride from port to volcano would be disaster for sure. Looks like Royal Caribbean offering Pirate Cruise -- any info. from others who may have done - Good, bad, ugly?? OR other suggestions for small children on this stop? nerak Posted May 31, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2011 We did it, but it has been quite some time ago. Don't think I would do it again...or with children. On our way back from the sail, everyone was drinking and a group even mooned another boat. I do have to say that the boat was beautiful at full sail. We just aren't drinkers. Oh...also, you have to get off of this boat to another to get to shore. It takes several trips to get everyone to shore. I don't know that I my kids would have enjoyed it when they were younger. Just one opinion. The drive to the volcano is a long one, although very pretty. If you would try this, I would consider a private driver like st lucia frank (we use him). He stopped when we wanted to and went to the places we would like. Maybe someone like that would be best and cater tot the kids needs. This might be a good beach day with the kids. Go to Reduit beach and they might see the pirate ship sail by. We did this on our last cruise, after ziplines and enjoyed the beach very much.
