Cable Beach Questions

Trying to stay on a budget and read a suggestion here to take a cab to Cable Beach for the day.

 

1) How far away is it from the pier?

2) Is it easy to find a cab when you want to get back to the ship?

3) Are there public restrooms? Any bars nearby?

its a longer walk from the pier, not something you want to do really. Very easy to find a cab BUT to stay on budget you are way better off taking the local bus..the stop is right outside the straw market..Take the bus up cable beach and you can stop and get off for the beach. The bus costs 1.50. Didn't notice public restrooms...and there are PLENTY of bars around. An inexpensive trip is taking the local bus (1.50) up to the bacardi factory have a sample..and head back and maybe a stop at the beach.

The section of Cable Beach I have been to had no amenities--no bathrooms, chairs....just locals, one food vender in parking lot and beautiful water and sand. Too far to walk. You could possibly catch a cab from beach to port, but bus seems to be a better bet, unless you tried to hail one one the road or a resort.
