ilovhywd Posted April 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2011 We were originally booked on a HAL ship in May which offered a shore excursion for bird watching (flamingoes) on the Tagus River near Lisbon; but our itinerary changed, and we switched to a Princess cruise instead. Princess does not offer the bird watching excursion, but we are trying to find out what company runs the trip so that we can do it independently. Has any HAL cruiser ever taken this excursion and was it worthwhile? Any suggestions on how I can find the tour operator? (I googled the subject matter, but could not locate a similar trip.) I posted this question on the Portugal ports message board also. I also sent an E-mail to the Portuguese Bird Society! I thought about calling HAL, but doubt that they would be familiar with European shore excursions and certainly not for a non-booked passenger; but if anyone has the name of someone in HAL's excursion department, that would be very helpful. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer! Ilene
Storylady Posted April 14, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2011 You could check out these web sites that I found by Googling. http://www.birds.pt/ http://www.birdingpal.org/Portugal.htm We're on the Maasdam and I saw the bird watching tour and just Googled some key phrase to get this main web side.
