Galveston Hotel/Food/Shuttle

Holiday Inn has a shuttle which people complain about, as its not timely to bring you back to your car, some grab a taxi.

Almost every hotel in Galveston offers free cruise parking ...its so cheap its not a big deal. On short cruises, I tend to give up the free cruise parking and move my car to EZCruise to get out of Galveston faster.

Depending on when you are cruising, the Harbor House is right there at the port beside some restaurants. It is also within walking distance of the ship. Costs $10 to park for your cruise. However, they book up pretty early. We are sailing in mid June and booked in early March with no trouble.

Most hotels have restaurants within walking distance. You have a wide variety of price ranges. Hotel Galvez and Tremont House (both managed by Wyndham) have shuttles. Galvez is on the Seawall, Tremont is on the Strand. If you try Galvez, Miller's Landing is next door and has GREAT breakfasts. Galvez will rent or loan bikes as well.
