St. Thomas Review

Hi- We recently stopped in St. Thomas, from the HAL Noordam. It was a very busy day at the port with 6 ships in! Nevertheless, we went back to Magen's Bay Beach to swim. We had been there in 2005-for some of the best swimming we have experienced in the Caribbean. Despite the crowds, the beach and water were as good as ever and we had fun watching the pelicans dive near us!

We had a good driver for our tour- Gomez- he was fun and took us to an overlook of the port where polite vendors sold merchandise.

The weather was perfect- 86 or so. There was plenty of traffic in town-but it was good to visit St. T. again and see the views and beauty of the overused port areas. Don't understand how St. T. can handle so many tourists in one day-do you?

We booked our tour through the ship- the Noordam. When we all got into the open-air bus, the guide, Gomez, introduced himself. He was very personable and told us alot about the island on our way to Magen's Bay. We like taking a ship's tour in St. Thomas, because there is so much traffic and if we are late, the ship will wait.
