Emerald balcony sizes

Are all the balconies on the Emerald larger than 'usual' balconies on the other ships like Star, Diamond, Sapphire, etc. ie. more like the mini suite size holding 4 chairs vs 2 chairs?

I just got a cabin on Riveria and was surprised to see the 360 'view' of the balcony as it looked huge and the cabin details said the size of the room including the balcony was 233-285 sq ft. Aren't balcony rooms on the other ships usually more like 165-185 sq ft including balcony?

This will be my first time on the Emerald so I am wondering.

Emerald Princess balconies are the same as the other Grand Class ships. The Riviera deck is a standard balcony, about 5 x 9. (The fish-eye lens may make it look larger to you). 233-285 is the correct listing of the entire room, about 45-50 of which is the actual balcony. The lower number (233) is for the standard sized balconies, leaving a room size of about 185 ft. The larger number (285) is for the Caribe deck balconies; room size is the same, but balcony is an extra 50 ft or so, or about 100 ft in total. The 168-185 ft number applies to insides and oceanviews, and essentially is also the room (only) size of the balcony cabins.

It wasn't the lens. Unfortunately the 360 degree view is of a larger Caribe deck balcony. You will actually have the smaller balcony and only two chairs.

There are other inaccuracies such as the layout for balcony rooms. The bathroom/closet arrangement shown is only on the Grand. With the Golden and after the balcony cabins have a full length closet like in the mini-suites.

Oct. 2010 we had a balcony cabin on Caribe deck. Large:4 chairs & table.

I don't remember what thread that I got this from: Balconies on deck 10(Caribe) are bigger than those above or below. Deck 11(Baja) totally covered/deck9(Dolphin) totally exposed.

For what its worth, we are deck 10 again for our next cruise, only 2 cabins away from last year's.
