Cell Phones

Anyone have any luck using their cell phones in St Lucia?

If you travel often consider buying an unlocked, Quad phone on Ebay.

I use a sim card from travelsim.uk .... They give me a US number and a UK number.

It is especially cheap in Europe but I used it all over the Caribbean to call and receive calls from family and business associates and my total bill for two weeks usage was about $35. You preload the sim online and credit does not expire. In Europe most incoming calls are almost free. If the US caller calls you on your UK phone number the calls are free.....if they call you using the more convenient US exchange the call is free for the person masking the call and you pay only .23 per minute to receive the call........The sim picks up the best local cell provider in each area you visit so we've even used it on the ship w/o paying ship rates....
