mamagina Posted April 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2011 Our friends visited Antigua on a cruise in January and they just asked a cab driver to take them to his favorite beach. They said that the beach was beautiful and the staff was very proper, escorting them to lounge chairs that they rented for $5 each. They said you could get a massage on the beach and there was a beach BBQ available (for a fee). They were sure it was not dickensons because they remember being told it was a little more of a ride from the pier. They cannot remember the name. We want to know because we leave for our cruise this Sunday . Please help.
Cuizer2 Posted April 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2011 Antigua has 365 beaches. So if you stay for a full year and visit a different beach each day, you are bound to find it. :) There are 365 beaches on Antigua. All of Antigua's beaches are public. Some are totally secluded, some have resorts. Many of them are dazzling white sand and are protected by reefs so the water is warm and calm. On the Northwest coast the beaches are more developed with resorts providing water sport entertainment and restaurants. Beaches in the southwest and south are less developed while some on the east coast are completely protected by reefs. You can also find rough surf. There are coral reefs for snorkeling and beach bars for lunch. Exploring the many beaches available can be fun. http://www.allabout-antigua.com/beaches.html
mamagina Posted April 26, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted April 26, 2011 Oh my! I'll never figure it out by Sunday! Thanks for the info. We did stay in Antigua over 20 years ago and I do remember that statistic.
