1160451 Posted May 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2011 Hi We are on the Balmoral 1st August doing the French Collection. Has anybody gone to Honfleur independently from Rouen, taxi there and back with a few hours there maybe, and if so what was the cost like. Cheers for any help. Coravel Posted May 2, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2011 The distance from Rouen to Honfleur is only 37 miles but French taxis are prohibitively expensive, especially if you expect them to wait a few hours. I think the organised trip (if it doesn't get cancelled) may work out cheaper. Honfleur is very small but has a beautiful harbour and church. Rouen is much bigger and better and I think you are better off staying there and visiting Honfleur as a port of call on another occasion. The port guide won't mention it in her talk but in Rouen there is a hop-on-hop-off train tour which winds its way through the city and costs around 7 euros each. It runs every hour and there is a commentary in English.
1160451 Posted May 3, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted May 3, 2011 Hi Thanks for the information, apprecaite it. The hop on hop off train sounds just the ticket. Thanks again.
