Hi We are on the Balmoral 1st August doing the French Collection.

Has anybody gone to Honfleur independently from Rouen, taxi there and back with a few hours there maybe, and if so what was the cost like.

Cheers for any help.

The distance from Rouen to Honfleur is only 37 miles but French taxis are prohibitively expensive, especially if you expect them to wait a few hours. I think the organised trip (if it doesn't get cancelled) may work out cheaper. Honfleur is very small but has a beautiful harbour and church.

Rouen is much bigger and better and I think you are better off staying there and visiting Honfleur as a port of call on another occasion. The port guide won't mention it in her talk but in Rouen there is a hop-on-hop-off train tour which winds its way through the city and costs around 7 euros each. It runs every hour and there is a commentary in English.
