Galveston hotel info needed

thinking of cruising the magic in January 2012

I have decided on either the Hotel Galvez or the

Harbour House for 2 nights precruise

Just wanted to know what you think would be a better choice will have our 14 year old daughter

Also will not have a car are there any stores to get wine and soda nearby

Well, since you will not have a car, I would suggest Harbor House. It is walking distance to theCarnival cruise terminal and to the Strand Historical District.There are shops and stores along the Strand to buy both. We have stayed at the Harbor House and can tell you it has large rooms and there is nothing like opening your curtain in the am and there is your ship!There are restaurants within walking distance as well.Willie G's is right next door.

WE are staying at the HArbor House in June and walking to the ship. They charge $10 to keep you car (If you have one). Resturants are close too. Reserve early because the book up early. WE stayed at the Galvez last time and took a shuttle to the Ship. It was OK but we got to the ship later than we wanted to. The shuttle is first come first serve and we were were NOT first.

Oh yea, The Stand is real close for shopping.

FYI...Harbor House now charges 10.00 for the night you are staying then another 20.00 for the parking while on your cruise.Happy cruising!
