Navigator rescues 9 people

Just off of Navigator 4/28/11-5/2/11. Yesterday, 5/1/11, we were at sea (headed from Cozumel back to Fort Lauderdale) when we passed by a very unstable liferaft containing 9 people. We immediately slowed down, and the captain turned the ship around (quite a long process, since these ships don't "stop on a dime"). After about an hour headed back westbound, we came back upon the liferaft. We were about 25 miles north of Havana, Cuba. After coordinating with the U.S. Coast Guard, our ship took the 9 persons on board. We then headed northbound toward Key West, where the coast guard met us and took the 9 persons into their custody. We then headed back toward Fort Lauderdale, and actually arrived pretty much on time this morning. Everyone was cheering on deck, and it was a very exciting experience!
