Cabin Doors

I was reading that some, if not all cabin doors open into the hallway. Is that true?

Yes, they are recessed so they don't interfere with anyone walking down the hallway.

Makes egress of a room in the event of a fire easier and safer.

 

Many states and municipalities have laws requiring public buildings have outward doors leaving buildings. Not necessarily the cause for the rooms on a cruise ship to have them, but it is an added safety feature they may or may not have intended upon.
