We are on May 25th sailing and will be in Bora Bora on May 27 and 28. We are looking for an island tour to do on May 27. Has anyone done Island Tour by "le Truck" offered through Paul Gaugin? Is there a guide that provides commentary along a way or no? Is it the same thing as taking a local shuttle?

Does anyone have any suggestions for an island tour that would be land portion only?

Any feedback/recommendations are greatly appreciated.

We also looked into "off-road" adventure but are worried about rough terrain.

We enjoyed Le Truck very much as an overview of Bora Bora .. Le Truck does indeed have a commentator, ours was a local lady who clearly knew the island very well.

We thought Le Truck hit just the right note for the island .. it's pleasantly casual but you still get to see the sights. It's not air conditioned in the conventional sense .. but its got big slide down windows which allow the warm Polynesian air to waft in as you wish. Bliss.

They took us to one pareo place in a family's garden and it was all very low key. So pretty and reasonably priced. Also very much enjoyed the land crabs!

We stopped plenty of times for great photo opps, and called in at Bloody Marys (but not a hard sell).

We would definitely recommend Le Truck as a low cost, very pleasant morning on Bora Bora.

The next day we did a snorkeling trip with Christophe and it was very interesting to look back from his boat, at the island we have circumnavigated the day before.

HOpe you enjoy!

Astrocat,

Thank you very much for your advice!

We have booked Le Truck for the morning and plan to go to Matira Point in the afternoon for some snorkelling and swimming and end the day with at Bloody Mary's :).
