Linda2433 Posted March 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2005 Looking for a good beach to spend the day at in St. Thomas. Have tried the St. Thomas boards but not alot of response. Looking for a beach to spend a few hours with water sports/ restaurant/bar, restrooms/ chairs to rent? What beachs have others been to who have cruised to St. Thomas. Have been to Lime Tree Beach, years ago. Any suggestions please?
Host Caroline Posted March 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2005 IMHO only Sapphire Beach pretty much has what you want... I don't like Magens.. it's lovely but the water is so salty!
jcruise67 Posted March 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2005 I agree with Host Caroline...Saphire Beach is by far a better amenity beach. John
Linda2433 Posted March 15, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted March 15, 2005 I didn't like Magens Bay Beach either, was their many years ago. Went to see it cause it said one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Hardly, LimeTree was A thousand times better. What does Sapphire Beach have. Is their rocks before you go into the water like I keep hearing about on other beaches in St. Thomas?
jakedoc Posted March 15, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2005 Coki beach is fun. Pretty good snokeling to the left and to the right. Friendly people . Couple of bars right on the beach. Taxi ride about $8.00 one way. Taxis available for return trip. Have Fun!
normanb Posted March 15, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2005 We have been going to Morningstar Beach which is in front of the two Marriotts. We take a taxi from the pier and it is not too far. There is a bar and resturant right there. You can rent beach chairs for $5 to $10. There is also watersports. It has never been very crowded. joanne1 Posted March 15, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2005 We will be there in a few weeks and are planning on taking the ferry across to St. John's and visiting Trunk Bay - which is supposed to be amazing and has all of the amenities. If you can find some posts by Northender - she has posted times the ferries run and other details. When are you going? I can let you know how things went when we get back . . . JanetMarie Posted March 15, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2005 As the ship arrives to port, you will see Fishermans on the right, sort of jutting out in the ocean a bit. They have condos on the beach, Morningstar, and the beach there is absolutely beautiful. When we go to ST, we frequent this beach. The taxi ride is a short 5 minutes up the hill and back down the hill, and about $7. Have fun!
