Cruising on Carnival Dream in June and will be in port from 8:30 AM to 2 PM. We were considering day passes to Atlantis but hate to spend that much money when the waterpark doesn't open until 10 which will allow our kids less than four hours to play.

Anyone have suggestions for alternative excursions or things to do? Family of 4, two boys, 17 and 11.

Thanks.

I would reccommend possibly catching a cab to Cabbage Beach or wlaking to Junkanoo Beach and enjoyng the water this way. no charge ther than the cab as they are both free beaches. Cabbage can be a bit rough water at times but other than that it is lovely. You can also walk around the town area and enjoy the shopping and people watching around there.

We are also taking this cruise in a week. Due to the short time in port I think we are going to walk to junkanoo beach and maybe get snacks at fish fry. Since we will be there on Sunday does anybody know what time the resturants open? Also what time will the straw market open on Sunday. Wish we had a couple more hours.

  • 2 weeks later...

We'll be there on a Sunday in Sept. & plan to water taxi over to Atlantis. Does anyone know what time we can buy a day pass to The Dig? Also, will the Green Parrot at Hurricane Hole be open by around noon on a Sunday?

Not enough time for that kind of money. I will be there in April but have a couple extra hours. We did Atlantis in 09 with 2 kids and they love it but if you are only there for 3-1/2 hours and may be in long lines. We are going to try Junkanoo beach for the day will let you know how it goes

With the opening at 10am and the ship leaving at 2pm... which means you need to be onboard by 1pm and 30 min at least travel time between... PLUS getting out of the waterpark, you would be lucky with 2 hours of park time... quite expensive.

Alternative's are go see the "dig" at Atlantis, much cheaper though no waterpark. Or go to the Wyndham/Sheraton Cable beach for a smaller fee (in the $20 range I think) with a great (with slide... not real big) pool, beach, restaurant, bar, casino, watersports. Heck you could rent a jet ski and most likely go para-sailing for less than you would have spent at Atlantis.

We will be on the same ship a bit later... Nov. Have a great time and report back!
