ES and Groups

I need to book 11 cabins(4A) for my daughters destination wedding, 5-19-12 Liberty, As I understand it, if you book ES you cannot get fun points or a OBC and everything is non refundable, changeable, transferable. If I book the 11 cabins as a group I will get 1 berth of the refunded sometime AFTER the cruise.

 

With 11 cabins is it possible to book anything ES individual and get any kind of perk.

 

Is this Group thing a complete waste of time.

from what I was told, I was given the option of OBC or points vs the berth refund. I choose the points. I am not sure how that works with early saver cause we didn't use that for our group.
