Kids club rules?

Recommended Posts

Anybody know if the RCCL kid's clubs let 13- 15 year olds sign themselves out? Are there pagers or walkie talkies for parents? Do some parents actually allow their children to roam?? I need to be able to set the rules in advance:D

Honestly the 13-15 year old group does not spend that much time in Adventure Ocean. They do have scheduled activities, but will meet in a lot of different venues all over the ship sometimes including AO. Yes, they are free to come and go as they desire (don't recall the need to sign in/out at that age).

If you desire walkie talkies, etc bring your own. There 'may' be pagers for the very young (depending on the ship), but there is nothing for the older kids. IF you have a 'directionally challenged' child, HIGHLY recommend bringing getting them VERY familiar w/ the ship.

We have a 17 year old son who has been cruising through the tween/teen years!:D

There are no registration or forms to fill out for 13 and up, they come and go as they please.

My son typically goes up to the teen club the first evening to meet some friends and then they hang out the rest of the week. They have a couple of organzied excursions (one was in Cococay).

We have never used pagers or walkie talkies on any of our cruises. We have an 11 year old daughter who does not have signing out privileges. We finally just allowed her to do unsupervised scavenger hunts with some of the other AO kids.

During the day and evenings we always leave notes for our son to let him know where we are. He does the same (most of the time);).

Here are some of the rules my son has: No going into guest/crew cabins, no going into "crew only" areas, no disturbing other passengers, no throwing things in the ocean, adhere to the curfew, etc.......

Also you may want to consider limits on charging things with their seapass cards.

The age groups are 12 to 14 and 15 to 17. Yes, they can sign themselves out. Yes, some parents allow their kids to roam. No, that is not a good idea for several reasons. The ship will not provide pages or walkie-talkies to the parents of children in this age group.
