Clarification on Onboard Booking Price Drops

I didn't know this so I wanted to post and share it in case it would help someone else.

Apparently when you book onboard and get your 2 or 3 category upgrade, you can still get price drops based on the category you originally paid for! So in my case, I paid for a 2A and got a 1A- as long as I don't change my booking I can get price drops in the 2A category (or the 1A if that somehow becomes lower).

I always thought that the price had to fall below what you paid for your assigned category (the 1A) but I was happily proven wrong. I emailed Captain's Club to clarify and they assured me in writing that this was the policy.

Very nice. Are you eligible for price drops if you book through a 3rd party?

We had our onboard booking immediately assigned to our TA so I don't know if that is what you mean? Yes, we'll still get the price drops for the category we paid for; we just have to ask her to contact X to get it changed rather than calling them ourselves.
