Silken Puerta Malaga

Recommended Posts

We stayed there last summer. No it is not walking distance to the port in that heat and especially not with luggage. The cab fare wasn't expensive however, can't remember, but something around 10€.

It's very hard in the Silken hotel to find a room that does not reek of cigarette smoke. We asked to change rooms 4 times and STILL had smoke smell in the room. We gave up and stayed put. You can open the windows a bit, but it's hot if you do. And the wifi only worked in the lobby. Overall we were not impressed at all with that hotel.

The hotel across the street over the train station looked much nicer from the outside, it's called the Barcelo Malaga. We didn't stay at that particular Barcelo, but the one we stayed at in Bilbao was wonderful. Had I known it was right there I would have stayed at the Barcelo.

Thank you for your information!

(I have seen your review on Tripadvisor saying more or less the same thing about "Silken". Hopefully I'll agree with the majority on Tripadvisor saying that this hotel is "excellent" (55 reviews) or "very good" (47 reviews) - and not with you and one more saying this hotel is "terrible"!)
