Emerald Princess tenders damaged in Russian port.

I just read on the cruise junkie website that a refueling barge collided with the Emerald Princess in the port of St Petersberg, Russia and caused significant damage to several tenders. There are photos accompanying the report, and they really were messed up.

However, the report indicates that the Emerald will be continuing the itinerary as scheduled.

Yes that is true. Check out this thread for posts #65, 69 and 70 for updates. apparently, all is fixed and ok now.

We were on the Star Princess in the Falkland Islands when they had to refuel (used up more than planned to get past a nasty storm). They had to list the Star to one side (shifted balast?) so that the refueling barge would not damage the lifeboats. Very interesting operation.

Heck...that would be real easy to do...just get everyone in the Horizon Court buffet to sit on one side of the ship! :D

With some of the people I've seen on cruises, you might only

need two or three to move to the rail.
