Who has been lucky in the casino on Allure?

Recommended Posts

I had used up my entire gamling budget on the Allure in February (about $600) when on the last night my wife wanted to use up our $5 match play coupons from the Diamond booklet.

She proceeded to hit six straight roulette spins in a row (even/odd or red/black). She took the $60, went to a double bonus video poker machine and was up $600 in ten minutes after hitting multiple 4 of a kinds.

I said "we're back to even - let's go to bed before we give it all back". And so we did.

That's a very good stretch of luck. Getting 4 OAKS are tough to do, and they generally make or break your gaming session. Not only did I not get 4 OAK at all, I had a streak in Lake Tahoe when, over the course of several days, I was dealt 102 hands that had 3 of a kind and I could NOT pick up the 4th card even then. The odds are usually 1 in 23 that you will get the 4th card when holding 3, so I was extremely frustrated at the rut I was in.

Congrats on the win.

I'm a slots guy and IMHO the Oasis/Allure slots are weak. This is one area where Carnival does a much better job. Too many penny machines.

Penny slots in any casino are THE money makers, more than any other denomination. Put a penny slot next to a dollar slot, and the penny will make more money for the casino. If Carnival (or any other cruise line) hasn't yet made penny slots the predominant machine in their inventory, they soon will.

And that's fine but I won't be one of the people using them. ;) Also found that on both the Oasis and Allure, the casino was the least crowded of any RCI ship that I have cruised.

I liked that Allure has a non-smoking side but i left my money there! on the 3rd night a women next to my won $2000 on the deal or no deal penney slots. She was betting the max $2.50 though, too rich for my blood. I saw a few other people winning in the $100-200 range on penney slots but I found them very tight.

Lets put it this way. I played on 4 different nights and lost a total of $20.00 and had fun. My son took home lots;) more money then when he got on the ship and that was after all his purchases off the ship. He did make all the money on the slots.

I scored $30 off some of those penny slots.... and then went over to the coin slider machine, y'know the one with all those $50 bills and loads of quarters, dripping with cash? Yeah, I had a blast wasting $10 in quarters on it, and being rewared with a pittance of a few quarters which mysteriously inspired me to play longer...

My guess is that this is not a reflection on the casino, but more of a reflection on these 2 ships having so much more to do than other ships.

I have always won a ton of money on the last night of my cruise on any ship. It's weird I've won a $1500 wheel of fortune jackpot and $1000 on craps and $600 on another slot machine all on the last night of my cruise late night. I find people win more late night. It's my crazy theory, but I think they let all the money rack up then let them loose at the end since they are required to give some back. I'll be on the Allure in Sept I will see what happens:D

More people win late night because more people are playing then, which provides you with an opportunity to see more winners. What you don't see is that there are also losers at late night too. Winners tend to celebrate and are noticeable. Losers keep to themselves for the most part.

Casinos on land or sea are not "required" to give any money back.

Oh it was my understanding that casinos on "land" in US are regulated and have to Pay out out a certain percentage I'm not sure what sea regulations are but what do I know!
