Larger taxi/vans?

Are there any taxis at the port that will accomodate a group of nine? We'd like to hire a driver for a few hours to sightsee and then drop us off at a beach, but we don't want to split up. Do they have large vans right at the port? Any pricing information?

Yes there was a few larger passenger vans available at the port. Everything from a small Mercedes to mini vans to passenger vans. We paid $3 pp to go to town, and then $20 pp to for a two hr tour of the island, there was 6 of us.

 

The water taxi is the way to go for the beach and it is $5-7 pp. Hope that is helpful.

We personally did not make it to the beach, we opted for the day in the city and tour via taxi. Other friends went to the beach at Point du Bout across the bay to the hotel beaches. For an afternoon port stop that is what I would choose, a day on the beach away from the traffic.
