Thinking of staying here and wanted to know if anyone has any opinions? Are there places to walk to around the hotel (shops or restaurants)?

While we haven't stayed at the Hilton we did stay next door at the W. It's a beautiful stretch of beach and if you head out the door to your right there will be a long strip of stores and restauants. We really enjoyed Lulu's Bait Shack for a late lunch. It is at Beach Place Mall - which also has a CVS for any last minute needs.

There are no shops and restaurants right around the hotel other than in the W hotel (fun boutique and nice restaurant and lobby bar). Walk about 6 blocks in either direction and you'll come to stuff. Most of the good stuff is south (right on A1A), at Beach Place and beyond, but if you go north you'll find Primante's Pizza, Bonnet House, and a few beach shops and bars/restaurants. If you walk south about 4 long blocks you will come across Casablanca Cafe, a great find. About 1.5 miles away is Galleria Mall on Sunrise Blvd. You can take the water taxi downtown to Las Olas too. You can catch it about 6 blocks away at the Pillars hotel at the intracoastal end of Seville St.
