Pools/waterslide open while in port?

Thinking of cruising in December to Bahamas with Carnival. Been there several times so was wondering if pools/waterslides stay open while in port and if there are other things happening on boat while it is in port?

The pool may be open for swimming once you get on board. The water slides generally do not open until sometime after sailing and since most times they don't leave port until 4, it is not uncommon for the slides to not be open until the next day. Also, if you get very windy conditions, they will close off the water slides and/or some of the upper outside walking decks if they determine its not safe.

While a ship is in port, casino and shops are closed, less restaurants will be opened, or limited hours, and less activities. Other than that, life as normal. Some people don't get off the ship at all, some leave it late or come back early. Often there is a movie during the day.
