I don't think mine will go down being a brand new ship  Nevermind, I noticed that you are cruising during hurricane season on an older ship, probably why the price drops. :(

mebecindi Posted June 8, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 8, 2011 I am booked in a Cove Balcony on the Magic for Sept. 2012. I check everyday and so far........nothing. For you experienced cruisers, what is the chance that I could get a price drop?
SoonerOne Posted June 8, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted June 8, 2011 I've gotten a price drop or on-board credit for every cruise we've taken so far. I also use my Carnival credit card to redeem for on-board credit or purchases. I am always trying to figure out how to save some $$:D And yes we love the Conquest and the ease of sailing out of Galveston:)
Alliezona09 Posted June 8, 2011 #9 Share Posted June 8, 2011 I booked the Splendor, for October sailing, in May at $609 (not including my 20% off) for an 8A and 8B's are now $824~ don't think they will drop $215 pp for me to get OBC~but I still check everyday~! :p
ccruisequeen Posted June 8, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 8, 2011 It depends on the catagory, type of cabin etc-- my TA checked & said nothing has changed for the cabin we booked ES
Francisca_00 Posted June 8, 2011 #11 Share Posted June 8, 2011 Where do you check for a price drop? I paid my TA cruise for Nov. in full last wewek. Can I get a price drop still?

I am always trying to figure out how to save some $$:D And yes we love the Conquest and the ease of sailing out of Galveston:) Buy 100 shares of CCL stock to receive 100.00 cabin credit on a 7 day cruise and when onboard purchase a future cruise certificate for another 100.00 credit. I booked the Conquest about 2 months ago for a sailing out of New Orleans in February but the price is still the same. Its Mardi Gras week so the ship must be selling well. :)
melli_fera Posted June 8, 2011 #13 Share Posted June 8, 2011 when using the fare viewer, is the price quoted cruise only, or does that include taxes and port charges?

Here's where you check for your price reduction: http://www.carnival.com/BookingEngine/FareViewer/# If your cruise is paid off then you should get on-board credit or cabin upgrade:)

JaniceB Posted June 8, 2011 #16 Share Posted June 8, 2011 Mine dropped twice in the first weeks of May. I wonder if it is because the sailing is almost 6 months out and the ship is not as booked as Carnival would like?

JaniceB Posted June 8, 2011 #18 Share Posted June 8, 2011 I just couldn't think of any other reason for a price drop. Anyone have any other ideas?
Offroad Posted June 8, 2011 #19 Share Posted June 8, 2011 We are sailing on Imagination in October and have seen two price drops in the last two weeks. $40.00 sure isn't much, but that OBC will buy a soda package and a few drinks:D
SoonerOne Posted June 9, 2011 Author #20 Share Posted June 9, 2011 So far I have saved $120 in my two price drops! That's the most I've ever had, so I am a true believer in checking the rates as much as possible:)
Chasey Posted June 9, 2011 #21 Share Posted June 9, 2011 I booked in January for my August Bahamas cruise. I check multiple times a day, and I've never seen a price drop. However, yesterday was the first time since I booked that the price is the same. The cruise fare is more expensive, but the taxes are less expensive. Too bad I can't get the reduction though. :(

lucia1024 Posted June 10, 2011 #25 Share Posted June 10, 2011 Does a Forward balcony have more balcony space? Like Cabin 7202, 7212 or 7211. The are the pros and cons of front or back of ship. I will be sailing on the Valor in Oct 11 Any suggestions? Thanks
