Carnival Dream June 4-11 Review

Recommended Posts

Okay, first time on Carnival...I am an RC veteran and I must say I still prefer RC but...our family had a great time.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature was not kind to us...we had two days of sun and it rained the rest of the time. But like someone else on here said once, the worst day at sea is better than the best day on land!

We loved Nassau - we went to BC Hilton, based on Scubagirl's suggestions. We were not disappointed and that remains our favorite day. Grouper fingers, great! But...you will have to hunt the wait staff down to get full use of that food/beverage voucher. And the price is $55 per person with $30 voucher ($29 per child with $15 voucher). Beautiful property...

St. Thomas was drizzling...the boys went to Megan's Bay, we women decided to shop instead and enjoyed Senor Frogs.

St. Martin...can you say gully washer? It was lightning, thundering..but we did get off the boat about an hour before we sailed to shop and look around.

I found the casino to be loose on 25 cent slots....tip....insert a $100 bill and play it down. I honestly walked away with about $300 more than I walked in with. And if you can't afford to put a $100 bill in, you shouldn't be gambling!

We loved Dancing in the Streets, enjoyed the Art Auction, and loved the Martini Tasting event.

Went to the Caliente Club a few times but be warned...the younger set basically BARELY stops short of having sex on the dance floor. I mean, whatever...but go get a room, ya know?

We enjoyed the farewell party. Dinner in the Scarlett Room was wonderful and we loved when the lights dimmed and we knew it was party time.

All in all...laundry still not totally finished...we loved the cruise.

If you have questions, let me know.

Glad to see you made the most out of your cruise despite the lousy weather. I'll be boarding the Dream for a second time this week & cant wait to see the Eastern ports. What did your boys think of Megan's Bay? We were thinking of going there in St Thomas... :)

Did you go to the pool in the spa area

Spa and pool were wonderful. Wish we had gotten a spa suite now! And Nikki, yes, we did feel a lot of movement on this ship. Have never felt that much movement before; however, we were in the middle of some bad storms and the water was rough. We were on the 8th deck about mid ship - didn't feel the movement as much in our room as on the lower decks in the common areas.

Few more thoughts...the deck party was sooo much fun...one of the most fun nights we had on board. Decks are split up and assigned a shirt color to wear to the pool and there are conga lines and dancing...too much fun!

The pools are small but we prefer to hang out in the sun on the higher decks. The adult only Serenity area was wonderful, too. The hammocks and little basket/clam shell chairs....very nice.

We also will never sail without a balcony again. We enjoyed our mornings and evenings out there. Had friends in the next cabin so they unlocked the divider between our balconys and ta da! Double the space.
