waitingpatiently Posted June 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2011 My family has decided to give this a try. My wife has a couple of concerns. Is there a restroom on the ferry? How enjoyable is the 1.5 hr ride each way? Any concerns with becoming sea sick?
Rare mizLORInj Posted June 17, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2011 It's quite far. I'd check first to see how many ships are in STT and Tortola. The Baths are very cool to see but I won't go there again when there are multiple ships in port. There are very narrow trails which are not conducive to two-way traffic. gkjta Posted June 17, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2011 I second what mizlorinj said. We were at the Baths in March and I'm not sure how many ships were in port - 2 that I saw in Tortola. I loved the Baths but got very little enjoyment out of it because you were either hurrying because people were waiting on you to get down the path so they could come the other way or you were waiting on an endless line of people coming the other way and fuming....My husband was so frustrated he said he would never go there again...I would be worried to be there on a strict time schedule because when you get inside you're not really sure how long it's going to take you to get to the end....All this of course is just my opinion and others may think differently. tammi0916 Posted June 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 23, 2011 I had this booked for my July cruise and just got a notice from Carnival that they are cancelling all of the Baths excursion as they have had complaints from customers as well as timing issues with the vendor... I was so looking forward to going but we will find something else! T
msjekylcruiser Posted June 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2011 It's true, the excursion to The Baths has been cancelled by Carnival. They didn't let us know until after we were on board the ship. That left us one day to pick another excursion. I was very disappointed that they didn't contact me earlier so I could research another excursion. The girl at the excursion desk said they hadn't gone to The Baths for months so there is no excuse for Carnival not letting me know until after boarding. Can you tell I'm a little upset about it? Just wanted to add that they kept my $500 (4 ppl) for for two months and refunded my sign and sail acct. not my credit card where the original transaction occured. kathydeux Posted July 11, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2011 What a bummer.. we just booked our southern Caribbean cruise yesterday and this excursion was one of the reasons we selected that cruise... I was dying to see the Baths! Oh well... Gives us an excuse to plan another trip somewhere down the line I guess :)
