darsura Posted June 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2011 We are a family of 5. Usually we take a tour of new ports or cities we are visiting on vacation. The bus tour (or minivan?) offered by RCI tours downtown and then stops for a "photo" of Atlantis. I have seen some good walking tours posted and wonder if it is worth it to book a tour, or do this on our own. If it is really hot (we are going in July) perhaps the minvan tour is better, and at least we see (however brief) Atlantis. Also, we would like to go to the beach for a while, but we are not big beach people...2 hours max...so wondering if it is worth it to pay for beach access ($55 pp x 5 at BCH) or just go to the public beach that is within walking distance of the ship. Or does BCH offer a day pass that does not include food similar to Sheraton (we are not interested in eating since we do not plan to stay more than 2 hours)? Any suggestions and thoughts are much appreciated!

It is all within easy walking distance, unless you have some kind of handicap. If you really want to do a 'photo' of Atlantis take a taxi and tell him/her (actually I wonder if there are female taxi drivers in Nassau) to wait and take you back to the Hilton. It may cost you ten bucks. Then go to the west of the Hilton hotel, spent some time on a nice public beach, shop, etc from there on. You might even decide to stay at the Hilton beach and swimming pool.
