Belize Excursion Ideas

Would like to hear any suggestions for excursions in Belize for the 3 of us (ages = 42, 44 & 75) in October. Don't want to just do a city tour. Maybe something with a city tour + ruins or beach, etc...

Altun Ha ruins...they are the easiest to get around if your elder traveler has some mobility issues.

 

if not then Lamanai ruins.

we took both tours with NCL and ENJOYED our exursions very much!!

Just got back from Belize on the Carnival Triumph. We did the Altun Ha ruins and boat ride on the River Wallace (through Carnival). The local tour operator is Bak-a-bush, and they stop at the Black Orchid resort, so you might be able to find out how to do it without using the cruise line. The Mayan site was nice, but don't expect anything too spectacular. We really enjoyed the river part of the tour. Very few signs of civilization on the upper part of the river, and we saw monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, manatees, exotic birds, etc. Don't forget the bug repellant!!!
