Are shorts allowed in one of the main dining rooms at night? I thought I read that but want to make sure before I pack. Does anyone know from firsthand experience if this is true?

There are two main dining rooms. Skyline that holds about 1000 people and upstairs is the Liberty that seats about 500. You are definitely allowed to eat at Skyline with shorts--men or women.

free style cruising~ it will be our first time with NCL and we are used to fancier clothing on board-- it will be a nice change-------

I was refused seating at liberty for wearing jeans and a T... Skyline was no problem, as was The Cadillac diner.

"For dinner, collared shirts and a pair of khakis for men, and skirts or sundresses for the ladies. Nice jeans are cool in all restaurants, except the Liberty, but please no shorts or athletic wear in Liberty or Jefferson's Bistro. Kids under 12 nice shorts or jeans are okay. The Cadillac Diner and Aloha Cafe both offer a casual atmosphere."

The other thing that we didn't think of is that the Liberty refused us because of open shoes. Flip-were a no-no.
