Johnmac Posted June 25, 2011 Author #26 Share Posted June 25, 2011 So, there is literally a blue line to follow? Painted on the ground? Yes, all the way from the cruise terminal to the bus stop. J
Johnmac Posted June 25, 2011 Author #27 Share Posted June 25, 2011 How was the laundry service? We are on the Jewel for two weeks this fall. Can we have laundry and pressing done? Will it cost a mint? Life is easier if we don't have to pack enough for the whole two weeks.TIA Sorry, don't know. J
beardedladies Posted June 25, 2011 #28 Share Posted June 25, 2011 Looks great, we're on in august, can't wait! One thing we weren't sure of... We believe there's no kettle in the room, but is there coffee making facilities instead?

Not sure if they are available in Suites. J

Heppy Posted June 25, 2011 #32 Share Posted June 25, 2011 Gothenburg. Cruise shuttle into centre. Only viable option although public transport could be used but involves changing from bus to tram, a bit complicated. Walked to old town and then to waterfront museum. Shuttle back to ship. Visited the Volvo museum before boarding adjacent to where the ship docks. Excellent. Entrance should be 50 SEK but nobody seemed interested in taking money (even more excellent!) Hi, thanks for the great photos, we're on the Jewel OS in August to the Baltic, I understand the Gothenburg Dock is called Arendal - is this the same one that you were docked at? What sort of price for the shuttle into town? You mentioned 'theme nights' what were the 'themes', might help with the packing if I know beforehand. The ships shuttle is a ripoff $12 pp return. No realistic alternative. There were no Theme Nights on our cruise. J

elainemasey Posted July 1, 2011 #36 Share Posted July 1, 2011 Thanks, great info. Do you recall how much RCCL charged for the shuttle into Helsinki? Where did you buy the bus tickets in Stockholm and Helsinki? From the driver ? How did you pay? Did they seem to run frequently? Thank You, Elaine
elainemasey Posted July 2, 2011 #37 Share Posted July 2, 2011 Hi Johnmac, I just showed my DH your semiformal picture. Loved it!!! He wants to do the same. Was that your actual evening attire? What was the reaction? Thanks ( I think ) ;) Elaine

Where did you buy the bus tickets in Stockholm and Helsinki? From the driver ? How did you pay? Did they seem to run frequently? Thank You, Elaine Hi Elaine, RCCL Shuttle into Helsinki $12 pp return. I think this is the same for all the ports. Stockholm bus tickets. Buy at the Cruise Terminal Information Desk (Credit or Debit Card only). 72SEK pp return (aprox £3.50). You get 2 tickets for outward journey and likewise for return per person. A bit confusing but I guess it is because travel is across 2 zones. Helsinki bus tickets. Buy from the driver. 2.50 Euros single trip. As I said in a previous post, with hindsight, a better option would have been a day ticket at 7 Euros (also available to buy from the driver). Buses in both cities seemed fairly frequent, 15-20 mins. J
