Journey Oceanview Cabin Advice

Hi, I am a new cruiser to Azamara. I am booked on the 7 night Caribbean cruise, 11/27/11. Please forgive if this is something of a repeated request, I have searched prior threads but I wanted a more specific kind of answer, so thanks for your indulgence!

Oceanview cabin. I would like advice as to which cabins anyone has stayed in that (1) have the window, not the porthole (and is not an obstructed view) and (2) are quiet (specifically, not under the casino or the cabaret) and which are not by the anchor (as it draws up and down....I have been on other ships where it's so loud, you think it's going into your closet!), that is, if you think it matters.

I am looking at forward cabins 6004 and 6005, but they are over the anchor. Any opinions very welcome, thank you!

The current promotion is book an Ocean View and get upgraded to a Veranda. Your sailing is included, and the promo has been on-going for at least the past three or four weeks. I would take that option. Note that the Veranda will be a QTY, but still better than an OV for the same price.

When did you book? If recently than you should have been advised of this promo. I started another thread with the details, but is is listed on Azamara's US site.

Hi, Jade, as a matter of fact, my travel agent just informed me of that...so...problem solved. I will not know what cabin they will assign me for awhile, but a balcony cabin at an oceanview price? Sweet.

Thanks!

Great! Btw, I wasn't clear if you had actually already made a deposit or not, and were thinking of switching staterooms.

It seems many cruise lines (Celebrity and HAL included) are going in the direction of more promotions with QTY cabins. I guess one of the benefits for the cruise line (especially on a larger ship such as Celebrity) is that they have less people moving around and switching cabins.
