Loyalty Points

I am not sure if it is well known. It is new and surprising to me. Loyalty Points seem to be awarded on discretion from the office in Miami.

Loyalty Points may not be awarded for discounted bargains, though it is not mentioned when booking is made. Not loyal enough!!

People in Miami are the opposite to the crew members. On every cruise crew members were so nice that one wants to return to see them. :)

When you say loyalty points are refering to sailing on an Azamara ship and utilzing the Le Club Voyage repeat guest program?

and Not attempting to transfer cruises between AZ, RCCL and Celebrity.

If this is a problem you are having with AZ specific could you please be more specific. Were you on a nonrev rate? travel agent? military?

Last year my Discoverer status with AZ was obtained because of my Elite with Celebrity.

Then we sailed a B2B with AZ whe received 1 sailing for each cruise and then an extra credit because each sailing was 12 days.

I should also add that we were told that my DH would be at Discoverer status because he was married to me. Huge perk with that since we now have more internet and laundry allowances!

Thanks

We utilized the Le Club Voyage program on the Azamara. The cruise in question was booked through an agent as ordinary guests. It was a repositioning back to back to back, three cruises. We took that up considering it good value though there were many sea days.

The Miami people alleged that we were on a reduced rate and points were awarded on "full fare paid cruises" only. We did not have points awarded on one of these three cruises.

We have met many people on board at various times and many had discounted fares booking at late stages. No one ever mentioned that since you paid a discounted fare you would be treated differently. When we booked the cruises that particular condition had not been pointed out to us.

As I mentioned before the crew members and the condition on board are really top rate, and we love them. It sours our feeling towards Azamara when we were made to feel that only by paying more then we can be considered "loyal".

When one considers the value of some extra internet time (unused) and another bag of laundry one knows what "loyalty" is worth.

You are still a bit vague...

There are discounted rates (which people think are great) and will call them that and then there are DISCOUNTED  rates.

So, forget what the chatter is among other passengers saying they got discounted rates and loyalty credit. they might not know about the real DISCOUNTED rates:eek:

Did they basically give you a travel agent rate? an airline non rev rate? because with both of those they are losing money.

If you were given those rates, then I don't believe you deserve your Le Club Voyage credit. That rate was the perk.

and this comment of yours.

I don't get it, you are complaining you didnt get credit, BUT you didn't use the perks?

For many of us these PERKS are worth A LOT and while I could sail on many other lines and have the highest ranking with each one. I look at AZ and Princess 1st because of these exact benefits since when I travel it's usually for B2B,s and extended land. We are still working and in our 40's with older parents. For those reasons alone our loyalty to a brand will be secured with these perks because we use them A LOT and when you do that adds up to alot of $$$

On the flip side if a line is not offering these perks but gave me a nonrev/ travel agent rate or something else that amounted to a real steal of a deal. then obviosly the freebies are a non issue.

Honestly, you haven't given enough reasoning with your complaint since you have not revealed how discounted that 3rd cruise was to determine if I should stand beside you with your complaint.

AZ has proven many times that they do "listen" to these boards.

.

Can you be more specific? Which cruise/itinerary were you on btbtb? How many points did you have before you embarked, and how many more did you receive?

You say 3 cruises, but I can't tell if you received 2 points instead of 3, or 4 points instead of 6 (12 nights or longer), or expected 9 points because you were in a Suite but did not get the points because of an upgrade?

I shall not enter any more on this thread. After all no matter how well intended to enlighten me well informed people here are really not in a position to explain or exercise "discretion". I do appreciate your good will.

I brought this up for the less informed like me. Rightly or wrongly I felt disappointed and hurt. The monetary value? If I am that hard up I can always book the cheapest cabin, at full price.

Thanks for all the replies.:)

WOW...

You make an accusation, you won't provide exact details...

and then you insult us while posing it as a backhanded compliment.

You say brought this up for the less informed like you.

but yet all you did was stir the pot since you refuse to elaborate and you keep contradicting yourself

How is that being helpful to the less informed???

You've just created confusion with very passive/aggressive behavior.

I think I can say this for Jade13 and I know for myself

If you had provided the details and it was obvious you were being screwed by AZ...

We would have stood with you and suggested steps on how to rectify it.

Both us have a history of repeatedly offering explainations and advice on Cruise Critic and AZ in particular.

Best of Luck with your future travels

I agree. All OzFactotem has done if left a vague post that doesn't explain the length of the 3 cruises (12 nights and longer receive an additional point per segment) or whether they were in a Suite (Suites receive an additional point per segment), and whether the one segment missing the point was at a travel agent/industry rate (no one asked for the exact rate).

I am not even sure from the post if they received any points or are just missing one. I agree that all Ozfactotem has left people thinking is that Azamara has screwed them. Both of us would stick up for the guest if we agreed, but we can't get clarification on the issue because we can't get simply clarification on the length of the cruises, and category stateroom to confirm how many points were expected and how many were received. The post is way to vague.

How do you find out how many points you have? I would have thought it would be under My Azamara Le Club Voyage but if it is there, I can't find it!

In England you cannot see this - it is whatever your Captains Club status is as LCV doesn't really exist as it's own entity yet.

Hi Malcliz !

Azamara does not offer that feature yet. Celebrity recently added this feature, so hopefully it will be offered by Azamara at some point.

My suggestion is to email LeClubVoyage@AzamaraClubCruises.com , and they should be able to assist.

I hope this helps !

I tried to look up the complete Terms and Conditions, but the link was broken.

Azamara does need to post the Terms and Conditions. I do know that HAL has exclusions (such as travel agents rates) and they are posted under the complete Terms and Conditions of their program.

I recentley was exploring the Celebrity Century website and found my Cruising history. I have only cruised Azamara mostly and RCCL once. There were missing points. I contacted Le Club Voyage but up to this point am not happy with their response. I advise avid Azamara cruisers to check their history. Their definition of loyalty seems to be different to Ozfactotem and mine. A huge shame when the wonderful Crew and staff know what loyalty is to their guests and their company.

Who do you email from Australia? Have you tried the UK desk: captainsclub.uk@rccl.com?

Hi Albert Ross !

According to Azamara's website, the UK email address is infouk@rccl.com . I'd refrain from emailing Azamara inquiries to Captains Club, as that pertains to Celebrity.

Here's a link to Azamara contact information : http://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/contact-us

For the UK office, there's a contact form on the Azamara UK website. Here's a link : https://www.azamaraclubcruises.co.uk/personal-cruise-specialist/email-us/default.aspx

I hope this helps.
