StarFlyr Posted July 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2011 On a recent cruise on the QV, I found the "hot" tubs to be just warm. One of the deck men told me they were set at 35C which is 95F. My hot tub at home has a heating range of 98-102F. I realize that is only 3 degrees cooler, but it's very noticeable. All 3 hot tubs were set the same way. I guess they're afraid of overheating one of their older passengers. I don't remember if I had the same problem on the QM2 last January.
Dancer Bob Posted July 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2011 The so-called "hot tubs" are a problem on most ships. They are indeed worried about old people and drunks, and couldn't care less about the rest of the passengers. I also suspect the temperature is the inflow water, not the tub average. If I recall correctly, only Royal caribbean had tubs that were actually hot and open late.
