Goldmann Posted July 14, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2011 The Oceania site offers the Privee venue at a price with food being provided from other Marina restaurants. Does anyone know if the original concept has been abandoned entirely?

Goldmann Posted July 15, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted July 15, 2011 I have no idea if it our experience is/was representative. During our 12 day trip in March I believe Privee had two bookings in addition to ours.

During our 12 day trip in March I believe Privee had two bookings in addition to ours. Oceania is too discreet to confirm this, but I suspect that the customization of the Privée menu began taking up too much of the Executive Chefs time. As you say, with the lower tariff the room will see more use, so perhaps that will be another benefit to the new policy. It is unfortunate that the original concept didn't fly. It was an amazing experience.
wripro Posted July 16, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2011 Obviously they overestimated the willingness of people to shell out $2000 (with wines and tips) for one meal for eight.
Ragnar Danneskjold Posted July 17, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2011 That seems like a bagain compared to what we shelled out for the tasting menu and wine pairing at Le Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower in June:eek: But it was my DW's birthday and so was worth it. Ah, Paris at sunset from 400ft up... Do folks on the CC rollcalls often setup CC dinners in Privee?
