SATURDAY- Last Day at Sea

Larry and I went to the MDR for breakfast alone today. Kelly was working out and Dave was in the cabin with Macie. She was at her late night party until 3 AM, so she was sleeping in today. Later, Larry went to the casino.

Dave and I went to the Future Cruise Travel Talk. We bought a FCC for our next cruise. It is really a no brainer. You pay $100 and you get $100 off your cruise plus $50 OBC for less than 7 day cruise, $100 OBC for 7 day and $200 OBC for 12 day or more. If you can book your next cruise onboard, you get upgrades and more OBC. If you decide not to cruise, just request your money back. Goes on S&S card.

We had lunch, spent time packing and just relaxed during our last day. We went to dinner in the MDR. Our servers sang to us tonight. It was kind of sad. Put our luggage out and we went to the $5000 BINGO game and the Win A Cruise drawing. We didn’t win either one. We picked up out last pictures from the photo area. We visited the Fun shops one more time. I was able to get 2 T-shirts for $20. They were $25 each first of the week. Fun Shops have some really good buys the last two days. We sat on the balcony for a while. Kelly turned in early, but the night owls, Macie & Dave went to the Legends show in the Follies Lounge. They said it was very good. We went to bed and watched Wall Street 2. Our towel tonight was a heart. So sad to see our cruise end.

An amazing photo looking through the Whales Tail

What a great review! We will be on the Legend in Sept.

Where did Dave snorkel on Roatan and could you find out the name of the tour he used. The pictures of the fish were spectacular.

We want to snorkel in Roatan so it would be a great help

Thanks

Officer Stinson, I could have gotten a job working at UVa, but I enjoy going to bowl games every year! Since this is a cruise message board, I guess Wahoo fans do have and advantage, though, as they can book early on cruises for the holidays without having to worry about a pesky bowl game getting in the way...

Really enjoy reading your review. Also, thanks for taking the time to post the great photos!

Great review.....love all the pics, the dw and I will be on the Legend in Oct. .

I do however have an issue with your son in law....could he not have gotten a job at the University of Virginia....go hoos go......great review. Rob:D

BillandKateC,

West Bay Beach has AMAZING shore-entry snorkeling ... the best I have ever seen! And there are lots of ways to get there. Tabayana Beach Break gets you there on a Carnival excursion, but if you have a group of four or more, it is cheaper to hire a driver for the day for about $25 each. Dixon Tours is what we had booked, and I think they would be great baed on research. Best snorkeling is just to the left of the angled pier. Head out along the line of bouys and it keeps getting better until you reach the outside of the reef! Great structure and incredible water clarity!

SUNDAY- Tampa, FL Debarkation

Breakfast in the MDR then we sit and wait to go home. We had Zone 8. We waited in the Follies Lounge as instructed, but could not hear the announcements. We moved out to one of the lounges and waited FOREVER. We got off the ship, finally, found a porter, went through customs, loaded the car and were on our way by 9:45. Drove straight through to VA and arrived home at 10:15 PM.

We had a great cruise and I can’t wait to go again. Don’t know about Larry. He doesn’t like crowds and is a homebody. Guess Macie and I will be roomies on the next one, unless Larry changes his mind. We had to leave our dog at the doggie hotel and he worried about her. She was fine when we got home and was glad to see us.

I got a lot of answers to some questions I had about things. I really like the Spirit class ships. I will not cruise the smaller class anymore if I have a choice. The coffee, tea and Lido desserts were much better on the Legend than on the Elation. A balcony is better than an ocean view. However, an inside would be better than not cruising. The Legend is beautiful and Kelly says is much better after her dry dock. They sailed on her 2 years ago. We were in cabin 7172 and still didn’t have a flat screen TV.

There were 600 children on board this week. All but a few mischievous boys were very well-behaved. The boys were running up and down the halls at 3 AM. I think I was a little jealous. I told Larry that it would be wonderful to have the energy to run at 3 AM. They also did the push all the decks in the elevator thing, but only once for me. All in all the children were just being children.. I worried about some of the younger ones I saw being unsupervised so late. Oh well, guess that is the Nana in me.

We had a wonderful family vacation and I can't wait to cruise again. Yes I am addicted. My Kelly doesn't read CC so she said to tell everyone to bring a clock and a power strip. I guess I forgot to tell her those things I learned. LOL.

Happy cruising to all of you and I hope you have enjoyed cruising with our family. I certainly have enjoyed writing this review and thank you for the nice comments. I told you Dave was a fabulous photographer. The 700 he took on this trip are multiplied many times over with all the places he has been. They are awesome. Thanks, Dave.

If you have any questions, please ask. Dave answers the excursion, camera & snorkeling questions. Hmmm, that doesn't leave many other topics, does it? Macie & I could answer the shopping questions and Kelly the gym and Lido deck ones. Larry is the expert on the casino and adult beverages.

HAPPY CRUISING TO ALL MY CC BUDDIES!!!

AMAZING! Check out my long answer above (I think, but I'm not sure how this board organizes things to others).

I started reading your review this morning and had to run the cat to the vets. And then DH wated to watch mvies all afternoon, so I had to wait til 11 p.m. to finally get back to it. These are wonderful pictures and a great review. Where did your SIL snorkel in Roatan? We did not end up getting into Mahogany Bay when we cruised on the Legend, and had no shore excursion planned, but we will be on the Legend again next year and would love a good snorkeling spot. Thanks, marshhawk:)

In Grand Cayman, the wreck is about 100 yards or so offshore, very near to the tender dock. I just went out of the dock area and to the left until there was a place next to a little beach area where I could leave my t-shirt and sandals and hopped in the water ... took me a little while to fine it, and you would have to be comfortable with a long swim in deep water (of course you float effortlessly in salt water), but it if a pretty cool thing you can do in less than an hour for free (if you have your own gear)!

Larry's Lady --

I really liked your approach to a review. Clear, concise, hit all the right spots. Thanks so much for taking the time.

Dave --

Thanks for the excellent photos. That little Canon really surprised me. I'll have to investigate further. :D

All I can say is WOW. I've sailed on the Legend and been to most of the ports of call except Rotan. I had to read and see every post of your review. I've copied the link and sent it to two of my clients who will do the same cruise on the Legend 4/12 and one similar on the Dream 3/12 next year. Makes me want to cruise with them. Thanks to both you and your SIL. It is hard to believe Dave just used a Point & Shoot camera, especially underwater. I have never been able to master underwater shots like those. Marvelous.

Thanks so much.

Thanks for reading my review. Now it is time for me to say WOW, that you would send it to clients. Dave's pictures are fabulous, of course he is a professional. I believe he could take great pictures with my old Kodak Brownie. Your should see what he does with those $5000 cameras. I know your clients will love their cruise. Glad u enjoyed my review. Love your name. I am a Nana too.

Thanks Tandemcruzr. I really enjoyed writing the review. I have read a lot of reviews on CC and learned from others. I have also remembered what questions people have asked about ports & also what I would have liked to have known before we went, ie all about tendering in Belize and Altun Ha. Glad you enjoyed the review and Dave's photos. He makes the extra effort to make them just right.

Glad you enjoyed the review and Dave's pictures.

Since this was our first balcony, I can't tell you the difference. From reading CC, I believe it is 2 feet deeper than a regular balcony. There was plenty of room.

I bought my cane at the local souvenir stand at the Altun Ha Mayan ruins in Belize.

By far the best pictorial review I've read through in a long time, great job! Looks like the whole family had a good time. Oh and by the way, go Virginia Tech! Hokies for Life!

Happy to hear from another Hokie and that you enjoyed the review and pictures. We had a great time. I am so glad I had my photographer with me so he could take those beautiful pictures.;) LOL.

Wow, what a great review! I am going on the Dream in 19 days and will be going to Rotan & Coz. Last year I spent a week in Grand Cayman and loved it. The pictures are simply beautiful. I am praying for your cousin!

Thanks and have fun on the Dream. That is the next one we want to try. We appreciate your prayers.

Hi Bruce' date=' Glad you like the review. I asked Larry and he said they were all good and certainly worth the money. His regular beer is Coors in the bottle. Not Coors light but the hi-test regular. He also drinks Corona but not on a regular basis. He said the Mexican beers reminded him of Corona with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Some of the beers in Roatan were dark beer. You will love the two bars there at the shops & the beach. At the one near the shops, they had frozen drinks in machines that you could sample for free. They were all good!! The people there were very friendly too. We didn't eat there, but we saw several people having lunch. We thought Roatan was a little piece of Paradise.:D Hope this helps[/quote']

Thanks so much for the info....love the review!
