ATV excursion costa maya

I posted this on the Costa Maya thread but had no response, I am hoping to get more of a response here.

 

My wife and I will be in Costa May this August and would like to take the ATV excursion, she had never been on an ATV and is a little nervous. Is this excursion good for people that have never operated an ATV before? I heard that it is very bumpy and strenuous.
