Heathrow customs and immigration

Recommended Posts

Our flight from the U.S. is scheduled to arrive at Heathrow on a Monday morning at 10:15. Thanks to all of your comments, we have determined that the easiest way for us to get to our hotel is through a private company. How long will it take us to get through customs and immigration? We want to give the company a realistic meeting time.

Your transfer company will monitor the flight's actual (as opposed to estimated or schduled) arrival time and will plan to pick you up accordingly. All they will need is your flight number...

As for how long it will take to get through; allow at least one hour - but hope for less!

Nobody can answer how long. It depeds how many flights com in t the same time and how many people are on them. I have gon e through immigration in five minutes and I have waited on snaking queues for close to 45 minutes at similar times in the morning. It will take what it takes. The company will be aware of just what is going on so you'll give them your flight info and they'll act accordingly.
