mylof Posted July 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Has anyone done Carnival's "Shore Snorkel for Beginners" in Cozumel? How was it? We're really just looking for a good beach and good snorkeling. Thanks!
JohninDC Posted July 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2011 I have not done this excursion, but in general good beaches do not make for good snorkeling. The sand and waves tend to cloud the water and reduce visibility - better snorkeling is generally found in rocky areas and near coral reefs. Check out the Money Bar - only a $10 cab ride away from the pier, great snorkeling from shore, they can rent you the gear and provide instruction & a guide if needed, sandy area for sunning and relaxing, and the food and drinks are great! :D Good luck! :)
pickler1 Posted July 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2011 Is that $10 one way or $10 round trip to Money Bar?
Meyer2 Posted August 4, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2011 Hubby & I did this excursion back in October as it was our 1st time to snorkel. I think it's great for beginners & was worth it. The guides were nice, taxi was provided & once you had snorkeled with the tour guide, you could stay & snorkel for a little more, but we went on back to the ship to change & then go shopping. :) Also, there are lockers, which are a very good size, to rent for like $2.
