There is Roatan Shore tours offering $25 including transportation to either Turquoise bay beach resort, Palmetto Bay Plantation resort, or Club Natale Bay resort. Did anyone recently go to either of these? reviews?

We enjoyed a nice day at Turqoise Bay in March. Ladies in the group enjoyed a quiet morning relaxing on the beach while the men went fishing. It is a small resort on the north coast about 40 minutes from Coxen Hole. We had private transport through Roatan Culture Tours so we could tailor the day to our needs. Small beach bar available, clean restrooms inside main building, (a little basic round the pool). Also restaurant on site which we didn't try and some water sports available I believe. We had arranged to move onto Parrot Tree Plantation for lunch.

We are returning in November and are planning to spend the whole day at Parrot Tree. Turquoise Bay was fine, very relaxing on the beach with loungers available and palm trees for shade but we wanted a change and Parrot Tree is a little closer to port.

Parrot Tree is another place you may want to consider (google for photos). It is a newer property, definitely "more manicured" and "less natural" than Turquoise Bay but with a really nice looking pool.

I believe Club Natale has only opened very recently and is very close to Mahogany Bay.

1. who did the men use for fishing?

2. were they successful?

3. what did they catch?

4. what type of fishing did they do (deep sea, reef, bottom)?

4. how much did it cost?

Thank you, DK

The men arranged the fishing through Subwaywatersports who are based at Turquoise Bay. They do "light trolling" from that location along the reefs and off shore banks. They can alos arrange deep sea fishing. My son really wanted to do fly fishing but the company he was going to use was booked so they settled on the trolling since they only had a half day and supposedly they could start fishing quite quickly after leaving the shore. Unfortuanately they did not catch anything. They felt it was rather hot and perhaps too late in the day for fishing although we got there as soon as we could after ship docked - it is a 40 minute ride. It was $260 for half day for the boat with up to 4 passengers and included guide, gear and soft drinks. Booking and administration were fine just no fish! He thought it would be better to do on a land vacation.

I am also wanting to do a beach day at one of these 3 resorts offered. Can anyone give further information for which one has the best snorkling out of the three Club Natale Bay Resort, Palmetto Bay Plantation, or Turquoise Bay Resort?
