Summit Sky Suite 6146 any pictures?

We were in 6145 and loved it. I don't remember it being too dark at all. In fact, the only 2 complaints I had were the sliding closet door going back and forth in rough seas (until we wedged a carry-on between the door and frame) and wire hangers. You will love the bathroom! You could sleep 34 in there!

I booked cabin 6146 for 6/2012 and was looking for pictures. Is this cabin too dark with just the balcony door? Does anyone know if this cabin will be solsitized?

We have sailed in 6145 on the sister ship, the Constellation before and after it was solsitized. The cabinetry remains dark as it was before. They replaced the carpet, recovered all of the soft furniture and installed new draperies. The cabin always was a bit darker than the other Sky Suites because of the single standard glass door, not offering as much outside light as the other cabins with the patio slider type of door. But it was never too dark. Great cabin, and as others have said the bathroom is big enough for a small party. Go for it, it is a great cabin. (as long as there are not young children pounding on the piano in the penthouse suite next door .

Stayed in 6146 on Summit as well as 6130 ( SS, not 100% sure about the number, its been a while) on a B2B cruise.

The lighting issue IMO has been a little exaggerated, its a tad darker because of the singular door rather than the sliding one, however, we did not find any issues with lighting. Nice thing about 6146 is that its linked to the penthouse, so , generally speaking, from what our butler told us, if there are immediate concerns about soft furnishings or what-not they are taken care of swiftly- maintenance concerns in the ships top spot would never be a good idea.

The best perk of this room is the bathroom, the shower stall was to die for. Balcony is also spacious and has 2 loungers, a table , and chairs, with still lots of room to move around.

The best perk (#2) for us, was the tour we received of the penthouse suite on disembark day. I was amazed when Bart our butler actually offered time away from his busy and demanding schedule to turn around cabins for the next sailing to give us a detailed tour of the suite.

The best perk (#3) for us, is the fact that your Butler and Room attendant are bar none the best on the ship- the corridor of rooms from 6146 all the way down to 6126 (I believe) are all serviced by the best butler in the world. Bart was the reason why this cruise was a benchmark for us, he anticipated all of our needs.

We stayed in Summit 6146 in 2002. The smaller balcony door was a non-issue. We actually prefered it. With the curtains closed (electric curtains by the way) the room can be made dark enough that it is easy to sleep in some days. With the curtains open, there was enough light. Not as much light as if there was a large sliding door, but more light than a room with no balcony and a window only.

Otherwise the room was great. A huge bathroom, a huge balcony with teak lounge chairs with deep padding. The other SS didnt have that, unless you got a Royal suite. The big advantage is that you can lay the lounge chairs flat and side by side, and you can sleep on the veranda if it is warm enough.
