ES To P&G?

If I've booked an Oceanview doing Early Saver and I'm now seeing Pack & Go rates on a Balcony that are looking more and more attractive.. will they let me switch from ES to P&G if I pay the upgrade fee? All it says in their fine print is that it has to be paid in full (which it would be after the upgrade fee) but doesn't say it has to be a new booking or anything.

I had a hard time switching from an inside to an oceanview on the phone, so wanted to ask here before I have to go through that again.

No changes are allowed to an Early Saver booking.

I did read yesterday about a guest who saw a better Pack n Go rate, inquired about it and was told that they might be able to make an exception and allow her to move to Pack n Go from ES but I don't think it's common at all...

P&G rates are for GUARANTEED cabins meaning you do not have any control as to where your cabin will be. It could be in an area where you are surrounded by other cabins, or it could be in an area that is noisy such as over the main theatre, the casino, a nightclub, a bar area, the galley kitchen, or under the Lido deck.

Read the fine print for Guaranteed cabins and then search for the various posts on this topic before agreeing to making the switch. If it was me I would never do this! JMHO and YMMV.

Thanks Mach.. It would be silly of them to not let me since OV's have been sitting on guarantee for two months now and they'd be getting even more of my $$.

Susan - we have no issues with guarantee, a balcony is better than an OV.. and I've looked at what's left and we're fine with any of them.

I don't know if I'm going to try it since it is $140 more and we're going with friends who wouldn't want to pay to upgrade. Gonna keep watching prices and decide.

Keep in mind that the cabins you see available now may not be the same as it gets closer to sail date.

People upgrade, cancel, upgrade fairy visits, upsell fairy calls, GTYs are assigned. No telling, for sure, which cabin you could end up in.

they told me it was on a case by case basis.. some can and some are told no. They didnt say how they decide who can change up or down. (inventory?)

Just to be clear, you are still ES. .. you just were allowed to price match, but you dont actually change to PNG.

I have been able to do this too... You don't ever want to lose you ES. ;)

What I couldn't them to do for me was sell me an Exterior and put me an Interior :D (yes the exterior was cheaper) so I could be in the same cabin for our B2B. But the ES drops on the first trip covered the 2nd leg great deal I got!

But due to email they sent out about 30 days before sailing for upselling if you called in - I was able to move both cabins for $20 each sailing so they are just across the hall. So hopefully we'll have the same cabin steward.
