Recent cruisers - smuggling

Recent cruisers...have you tried to put liquor/wine in your checked luggage and was it confiscated? I am wondering if they are cracking down on this. It's been 2 yrs since last CCL cruise and I had no problems.

On our cruise in June out of Miami, we met a couple who didn't know the rules and they got thier wine confiscated out of their luggage.

Yes, they are cracking down on it. Some get away with it, many do not.

 

Plus, the new rules state that all legal items (wine, water, soda, etc) must be carried on and NOT checked with your luggage.

I know they have cracked down in the past couple of years but we had a group of 32 last October - some got beer, liquor, etc. through and some didn't.

I made it on with mine!! I had 8 Rum Runners and all of them made it on fine!! I also carried on 2 bottles of wine and they didn't say anything:)
