2910car Posted August 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2011 Is it possible to just get a taxi at the port in Halifax and go to Peggy's Cove. How long would the taxi ride be and about what would it cost? It sounds like everything else we want to see is walking distance from the ship. We would like to see the Maritime Museum but not the Titanic cemetary. Then we would just like to walk around the port.
maryann ns Posted August 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2011 I don't know the cost of a taxi. You could try contacting one of the companies to ask. It is about a 45 minute drive. Here is a post from TripAdvisor last year: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g154976-i327-k4060735-Excellent_taxi_tour_from_cruise_port_to_Peggy_s_Cove-Halifax_Halifax_Regional_Municipality_Nova_Scotia.html#29710608 You are correct that if you don't want to see the Titanic cemetery (I never have seen it even though I grew up there!) then you won't need a car for the rest of the day. DMaugle Posted August 6, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2011 We used http://www.halifaxtaxitours.com can handle your trip. Send them a note and I am quite sure Les will get back to you promptly. Their website is fairly informative too. Enjoy, DMaugle
