sparkles_grrl Posted March 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2005 Can anyone tell me if there is a beach on keywest?
wwinfl91 Posted March 25, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2005 There are several beaches but they are not very big or very impressive. Key West is a coral island and the sand beaches that exist are created ones not natural. Here is a link about some of them. http://keywest.com/beaches.htm http://thefloridakeys.com/parks/smathers.htm http://www.vacationkw.com/beaches.htm You can still get a tan, get wet and enjoy yourself even if they aren't as nice as some others. Have a great next cruise.
stretch Posted March 25, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2005 Be careful while there and don't block anyones view of the sunset, some of the locals get really miffed when that happens. :D Stretch
mwtaz63 Posted March 28, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2005 I live here in Key West, if you have any questions please let me know. There is Smather's Beach which is by the airport and Higgin's Beach by the Casa Marina. Key West is not known for its beaches, so you may be disappointed. At Smather's beach you can rent loungers, tubes and sail boards. higgin's has tables that are covered.
dolphincruiser404 Posted March 28, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2005 I've heard that the beaches aren't great. I had a 4 day vacation booked there next weekend. Once I heard that the beaches weren't great (last week) I decided to cancel, and I booked a last minute cruise on the Majesty. Not too much more money either!
