China - Jackets needed in early September?

[OBX Cruisers]

We will be on Viking tour, starting in Shanghai August 30 and ending in Beijing on Sept 10. (Also going to Wuhan, Chongquing, and Xian.) We're packing light weight rain slickers, but are trying to decide whether to throw in a fleece or sweater for an extra layer in case it gets a little cooler as we get further into September. Any advice? Thanks so much!

Click on Travel & Activities (top right)

and select Trip Planner.

Now select your destination city, a range of dates, and click Submit.

You'll get a summary with averages and a table with detailed weather info for the last ten years, for each day you have selected.

Thanks so much for this really helpful web site! I'm sure we'll use it in the future too for other trips. I was hoping for some personal suggestions from anyone who has cruised with Viking at this time of year, but this certainly lays out the odds:)
