Coki Beach Dive Club in St. Thomas?

Has anyone dove recently with Coki Beach Dive Club in St. Thomas?

I read on another thread that the area there seemed to be going down, was questionable, and not recommended. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

$85 for equipment and a two tank scuba dive off a boat does seem too good to be true, plus they pay your cab fare! Were there hidden additional fees?

Thank you.

DH and I took the kids on a Discover Scuba with Coki 3 years ago and they were excellent. Kids loved it and got certified last year.

Went back to Coki last spring with a couple of friends who wanted to try diving. Things had definitely changed in the area but we still had a great time.

Shore dives are very easy, gentle dives. Fairly good amount of sealife. Beach is beautiful but can get crowded. Sorry, I haven't done any boat dives with them so cannot comment there.

I've done 4 dives with them and all were great. There wasn't an overwhelming amount of sea life but more than enough to keep the dive interesting. I wouldn't hesitate to dive with them again. On 3 of the 4 dives I was the only diver so I really had a nice escorted dive. A nice tip for the dive master at the end was more than in order.

We did a boat dive with Coki this spring, and had an excellent pair of dives.

Somebody else didn't show up, so it was just the 2 of us with DM and captain, so we were totally spoiled. I wasn't quite up to my normal self that day, and the guys were fine with me slowpoking along.

We had tight quarters on the ship, so we hung out afterwards for awhile to do the gear. Keith and our DM cleaned the gear, and I fetched sodas for everyone.

BIG tip for the guys - taking over cleaning our (personal) gear was really awesome. :)

Have a great time!
