snorkel boards (inflatable)

Has anyone used these in the Caribbean? We plan on beach entry and not going out so far. My friend does not want to get contacts for using a mask and she is thinking of buying one of these. Also has anyone found a pump that is compact and inflates as well as deflates?

Buy a snorkel vest and then you can enter from the beach, a boat... etc.

We have one for each family member and you don't have to worry about it getting away from you.

actually she is trying to NOT have to buy contacs or get a script into her mask as she probably won't do much snorkeling after this.

I have a vest and use it all the time, she would like to be able to see through the window of the snorkel board and is wondering if anyone has experience with this.

OK, you have me on that one.... I was seeing it as a boogie board type of thing. I have not come across a board with w window in it. Thanks for the clarification.

MY BAD!

Ya, I know..I'd never heard of one either but I think it was on here that I saw one mentioned and then we looked one up. This seems like it will be perfect for her, so I will get back on and do a "review" after my Dec cruise.

Re a board with a window, I have seen this one so you don't have to worry about inflating, although would take up room in a suitcase.

Did you buy the board yet? Maybe she could just get a pair of these -much smaller to pack. :)

Yes, she has bought the inflatable board, it has a 25% magnifier window in it and she can also wear her regular glasses. The board you linked to is for kids up to 132 pounds...but the mask looks to be an ideal product for many people to use. Very inexpensive too. Thanks for the info and I will get back here and let everyone know how the inflatable board worked.
